Starting in Wellington and ending in Christchurch, this 11 day tour encompasses all the highlights and wonders of the '9 Day South Island Experience'. It also includes the Cook Strait crossing on the Interislander Ferry, a stunning three hour journey between Wellington and Picton and one of the most spectacular cruises in the world! 	2: WELLINGTON / PICTON / HANMER SPRINGS Cross the beautiful Cook Strait on the InterIslander Ferry from Wellington to Picton. Journey to Montana’s Brancott Winery and then on to Kaikoura. Continue along the shadow of the Kaikoura Ranges and on to the resort of Hanmer Springs.... Details »

	3: HANMER SPRINGS / CHRISTCHURCH Travel through to Christchurch and visit the International Antarctic Centre followed by a sightseeing tour of this amazing garden city. 	4: CHRISTCHURCH / LAKE TEKAPO / AORAKI MT COOK Leaving beautiful Christchurch we cross the Canterbury Plains towards the Southern Alps and at Lake Tekapo. 	5: MT COOK / DUNEDIN Enjoy your full hot breakfast this morning before travelling through to Oamaru and its Victorian precinct and white stone buildings. We will visit the Moeraki Boulders then continue on to Dunedin, the Edinburgh of the south. A brief sightseeing tour of this city will be undertaken before receiving a Scottish welcome at your hotel. 	6: DUNEDIN / TE ANAU Visit the stunning Otago Peninsula headland with the opportunity to visit either Larnach Castle or Natures Wonders. Depart and continue through the Taieri Valley and farmlands of Southland to Te Anau and your hotel. 	7: TE ANAU / MILFORD / QUEENSTOWN Travel the famous road to Milford and board the Milford Sovereign. Cruise the very beautiful and serene Milford Sound, enjoying an international buffet lunch on board (included). Return to Milford and retrace your way back to Te Anau and continue north to Queenstown, sightseeing along the way. 	9: QUEENSTOWN / WANAKA / FOX GLACIER Travel from Queenstown to Arthurs Point and the Shotover Gorge to picture perfect Arrowtown. Continue through to Wanaka, a popular holiday destination. 	10: FOX GLACIER / HOKITIKA / ALPINE EXPRESS / CHRISTCHURCH Visit Lake Matheson, or take an optional Glacier excursion. Afterwards, travel to Hokitika and visit the Greenstone Factory and Glass Blower. Continue on to Arthurs Pass and board the Tranz Alpine Express to take you through to Christchurch, regarded as one of the great rail journeys of the world.
